Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
Anjali Soren, the sister of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, has alleged that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) summons to her brother is an act of "harassment" by the Central government, asserting that he is being targeted because of his tribal identity. Anjali Soren criticized the government, highlighting the contradiction between their talk of tribal upliftment and the alleged harassment faced by Hemant Soren. She suggested that the Central government fears losing tribal votes if the Hemant Soren government continues, prompting them to discredit him.
Responding to queries about the multiple ED summons issued to Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren, Anjali Soren expressed ignorance about the specifics but reiterated her belief in her brother's harassment by the Central government. She also addressed speculations about Hemant Soren's wife, Kalpana Soren, potentially becoming the next Chief Minister, stating that if required, she could assume the role, pending a decision in the legislative party meeting. The ED has recently issued a seventh summons to CM Hemant Soren under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002, giving him a last opportunity to record his statement.
